Coaches
The Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) requires volunteers who interact with minors to obtain three different clearances, together known as the Child Protection Clearances.
Steps for Coaching Clearances
1a. Certification of Living In Pennsylvania- child_safety_-_affidavit_of_compliance.pdf (teamsnapsites.com)
- If you have lived in only Pennsylvania for at least 10 years- fill this out. You will NOT need to do the FBI background check (skip 1b).
- If you have lived in a state other then PA at some point in the last 10 years- do NOT fill this form out. You WILL need to do FBI background check (1b).
1b. FBI Background check- ONLY REQUIRED IF YOU HAVE NOT LIVED IN PA FOR 10 YEARS. You will need to go get fingerprints. PA Service Code PDE Volunteer (teamsnapsites.com)
2. Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History - Home (pa.gov)
- Everyone must have up to date version on file. Good for 60 months (5 years)
3. Pennsylvania Child Welfare Information Solution (state.pa.us)
- Everyone must have up to date version on file. Good for 60 months (5 years)
