The Forks Township Wrestling Program is part of the Valley Elementary Wrestling League. The program is divided into 3 teams- Novice, JV, and Varsity. More information on each level can be found below. The program consists of boys and girls from grades PreK to 6. Girls wrestling is the fastest growing sport in the country, and we encourage girls of all ages to come out and learn the sport. Our season runs from November to February and consists of practices, tournaments, and dual meets. All wrestlers are expected to attend practice regularly. Prior to the closing of registration, we hold Open Mat nights on which kids that are new to wrestling can come give it a try before making a commitment for the season. The Novice level is mostly kids in grades PreK-3 and is geared toward kids who are still learning the fundamentals of the sport. During matches, novice wrestlers are informally paired with others who are similar in weight and experience.

The JV level is mostly kids in grades 3-6 and is geared toward kids who have mastered some fundamental skills and are learning and growing in the sport. There are 17 weight classes.

The Varsity level is mostly kids in grades 3-6 and is geared toward kids who are ready for the highest level of league competition. There are 17 weight classes.

*All wrestlers in grades 3 and below will automatically be registered as novice. Coaches will make adjustments to teams as needed once practices begin.*

Novice- 2x a week for 60-90 minutes

JV/Varsity- 4x a week for 90 minutes

Practices take place at the Forks Township Wrestling Room located on Sullivan Trail, directly across from Tony's Pizza & Restaurant.

Novice- singlet and hoodie

JV/Varsity- singlet, warm up top, warm up bottom

*Uniforms are property of the FTAA and must be returned at the end of the season.*

*All wrestlers need to provide their own shoes and headgear. We do have shoes in the wrestling room that first year wrestlers are welcome to use.*
